Typoless January 2017

Hurr hörr um. Uuh how does it go again.. We use our freely chosen limbs to gently or less gently touch those squares on a plastic or metallic board in front of us, and it sometimes makes your mini-me roll around like epileptic rainbow jellyfish, sometimes it produces text. And then everyone starts asking what you've taken to create such masterpieces out of symbols! It's great! We usually lack the appreciation of such doinks, so;



This is really early post about this, so you have exactly two weeks to prepare: The typo-counting starts at midnight oh spirits, the time zone mayhem in international side of December->January transition. THUSLY, IT IS TIME TO GRAB ONTO THE SLIMIEST PART OF YOUR keyboard/tablet/pen(why is your pen slimy..?) and screech with 'em like teh pigs-to-slayughter you are!

Already the anciet egpyt.. Uuuh Clawians made a S/M-inspired habit out of keeping strictly an eye on their wlls  of text. Already in the Dark Ages of 2012 the guineapig said most fluffballs of noobnesss would nover hear f the great habits f Clawians because nobody read the forum anymore(and then he mentined it again in the posting of -15), but h BEWARE! IT SHALL BE TRAUMATIZING, HORRIFYING, AGPP ARGH AGONY-INDUCING mind-warping grammar nazism and nuimber-comparing!
 Do You and the gem ofi your ifinkers (keyboard/tablet/fhone/watdehecktheycaressthesedaysanyway) have what it takes when it's time to prove that YOU are the one who controls the flow of text and and language!

And then came the time to step on.. taxes.. Up to taxes? It's a commom bible-reference line whtat's used inf finnish j Xa typos please calm down they need to understand the message xmas-time playus KRHM who cares½!  




Typoton tammikuu comes from a small group that had a habit to playfully compare their typos to each others, and thanks to Gvin, it has been introduced into Claws traditions - and now to Café traditions! Because counting typos is up to each individual, we can't ensure fair competition(but naturally every other competitions we have are 120% fair), but dare everyone you know to join in and let's better our writing skills together! It does english good. Yes it does, stop questioning.

The point of Typoton Tammikuu is to keep the number of typos as low as possible during the month(January) and pay extra attention to good language, english. We have.. One person in Café whose native language it is? Great! But make sure you pay attention to your own language flow during the month too~ We finns have dialects, spoken language, general purpose language and literary language forms of using the language, and they're all allowed in the competition; person does not have to change the way they use the language, as long as it's not solid brainfart or typo-ridden.
  To make sure conversation does happen(going mute to artificially lower the number of typos is denied!), it is totally allowed to kill your partymates endlessly and allowed to speak about everything that is not too grotesque. well, that was the case back in GW1-times, in GW2 you don't really get to end sentences because the game so much faster-paced, so use those brains!

Hard mode: You will count all typos. All of them. (<- This is what Gvin plays always! Join in!)
Normal mode: You will accept unavoidable typos; your mother-in-law lunges a knife in into your keyboard while aiming for your fingers, your partymate is about to die, your hair catches on fire, you get a radical nosebleed and you don't see what you're writing etc.

You can pick if you take the challenge only for in-game typos, or if you count in every typo that you make on every platform. The later+Hard mode is more efficient and easier to follow. You are in charge of counting your typos, but the purpose of the month is to avoid making typos in the first place.
 It is allowed to point out other peoples typos and discuss how something is written. Typo-counting starts at midnight, it doesn't matter if you notice/remember if it started or not! And you can't give up(though naturally towards the end of the month the numbers start to climb so high, it's hard to keep up with them.) (Arse says he knows how to count to 187 after training school, so that excuse is denied!)

Not typos from finnish list:
- Lack or over-usage of capital letters(but please use them kids ;__
- Miss-use or lack of punctuation marks
- Words written wrong, when a person doesn't know how the word should be written
- Symbols and letters that end up in chat accidentally ( "W" "234" "vvvvvvvvvvvvzzzzzfuuuck")
- Weird order of words
- Words written wrong on purpose (lolspeaks)
- If you can turn that typo into a part of your sentence, you don't have to count it
- Someone else writes something in your stead and typoes

Following excuses are not accepted:
- But I -- But they -- But I had to -- (If you're playing in Hard mode, a typo is a typo. You count it!)
- What are thee compound_words(yhdyssanat : >)
- I was SO DRUNK! I love you man!
- But I did it on puurpoosee!½
- THAT IS SLANG
- O-oh, Alex, p-please don't....

These are the foundations of the typoless january/Typoton Tammikuu. I hope it'll be very beneficial and horrible to all of you : D YAY
STOP WITH THE TYPoS! At the end of the month! Start of January! Have horrible playing sessions! o/
P.S. You're welcome to flaunt your numbers around. The bigger, the better, right? Hah! Haa.. Oh wait.
